No FWTC this week because of the Boo-Boo to my left opposing digit. Hopefully, Mamas little soldier will be able to grip an extremely lightweight fishing rod next week for a midweek session before the coaching at Todber Manor next Saturday.
Todber Manor has been on the form of its life this summer with match weights in open matches producing weights that are truly mind blowing. I even heard stories of nets of fish being tipped back that would be easy personal bests for most, because they would not compete with the winners. One match in particular had weights of 509lbs being only good enough for a section win! Over 630lbs won that day…
If you have not booked in for this coaching session, then you should. I can’t imagine a better place to at the moment.
We will be looking a fishing shallow, match style with the pole and with the Pellet Waggler. We may also look at surface fishing for Carp if we have time…

Just a quick word on the sad situation at Harbourbridge…
Jim has very responsibly taken the decision to completely close the fishery for two weeks, although he is not required to by law. The governing body, CEFAS, states that the infected water should remain closed for two weeks after the last fatality. All other lakes could remain open. I have spoken to Jim, and we will see where we are at with regards to our coaching session there on the 27th of August.
As a reminder, IF we get enough interest, we will be having a guest coach to show us how to correctly cast a fly line. Even I have not done this before, so I am very excited to make this happen.
