Fishing with the coach Wednesday (FWTCW), Presentations, moved events....

This weeks FWTCW will be visiting our own Luckfield Lake. Staying nice and local this week for a special reason. I am hoping to bring a special guest. My other (and much better) half, Trudie, is hoping to join me for our first fishing trip together for over 12 years and I am very much looking forward to it, but nervous at the same time. For those that have never met or do not know Trudie that well, she has suffered from Chronic Brittle Asthma all of her life. It is a life threatening condition that can come on in the blink of an eye. Since I met her 13 years ago, I have been her full time carer because her condition is getting steadily worse. The prescribed medication has steadied her Asthma, but the knock on result is that she cannot go out when she wants to and even when we do, it is like a major military exercise. The main thing keeping her from going out apart from the obvious is power. She is on oxygen fulltime and needs regular nebulisers, as well as C-PAP for sleeping. But now we have a portable power pack! I say portable, it probably weighs as much as my seat box, so I won't want to carry it too far!

She loves to go fishing and has really missed it. Her first ever fish was a 2.5lb Chub from Lyons Gate... A fish that I have only just forgiven her for catching because it took me 12 years to catch one that big! I am hoping that the weather will be kind to her and that going out doesn't make her too ill after. But she can't stay locked away for ever and if this works out, she may be able to join in with our Junior events which she so dearly wants to do...

Presentation evening...

Don't forget that this Saturday is our presentation evening! A chance for our trophy winners to receive their awards officially (18 months after they actually got them in our virtual presentation, See Youtube). I would be great if some of our other Juniors could come along in support of their fellow anglers too. Even if you haven't won anything. There will be a BBQ starting at around 5pm, drinkies for the grown ups and the Junior presentations start at around 7.30pm. Come along and represent the Juniors...

Kingcombe match relocated...

If you remember, there has been a lot of chat about the weed situation at Kingcombe. Unfortunately there are no plans to resolve this problem before our match scheduled to be held there, so I have had to look for an alternative venue. There is nothing in place at the time of writing, but I am hoping to do some reshuffling to get the venues lined up for some good fishing... I will post the relocation as soon as I have had it confirmed but it will probably be Mangerton, Revels or Luckfield... More when I have it....
