One month to go....

Well, just over actually... I can't believe how fast the time has gone since the Christmas match! But, here we are just a few days to go before we start our new 2022 season. With all the fixtures now on the website, I hope you have been filling in your diaries and calendars with all the important dates of our events... There has been a bit of a problem with booking and I honestly don't know why? There has been lots of multiple bookings going on with 6 places being booked for one junior at a single event! I would ask that you make sure that you only book in once for an event, even if it shows on the screen that you haven't... All bookings come instantly to me and are logged so, despite what the screen says, you are booked in... I will try to sort it out but it isn't my area of expertise to be honest, and I don't do techno babble either. Customer help assumes that you KNOW where the on/off button is... Talking of booking in, the first event at Luckfield is almost fully booked with only TWO places remaining. It is restricted to 10 spaces so if you want to come, don't leave it too late...

We are trying to get a new venue on board to replace the vacant Mangerton dates (Maybe Warmwell). Again this will be a restricted event so book fast. I am happy to say that we have a few new members that have shown a desire to come and join our happy family. I'm confident that we will see our biggest attendance this year and I'm hoping to top 20 Juniors. Larger numbers does bring its own problems of course with a lot of venues being smaller in size. But, with Silverlake on the horizon and the constant search for new and larger venues, I'm sure we will be able to cater for the increase in popularity. The other problem we may face is the delivery of coaching. More Juniors needs more coaches to avoid our coaching team being spread too thinly. There may be times when we may have to ask parents to help with keeping the juniors on track. If there is anyone reading this that would like to be considered for our coaching team, then please drop me a line at juniors.sec@d-das.com

There have been lots of new additions to our Re-Gen list that can found on the Re-Gen page on the website. These items will be listed as ***New***. I will post date/dates soon for a casting session/s at Sandringham Sports centre in Dorchester. Directions nearer the time. For those that have not been to our casting sessions before, we have kind permission of the council to use Sandringham Sports centre on the fenced in mini pitch close to Diggory Crescent. Each casting session will be open to 6 juniors per session to help keep it safe. We will practice casting techniques using modified tennis balls, rather than lead weights or feeders to prevent injury. Also for our newer Juniors a chance to go out for a one to one session with me to get a feel for fishing for free. A Taster Session will let you experience fishing without the need to bring anything other than enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. To book a session at a time of you convenience, contact me at juniors.sec@d-das.com
